In keeping the grandeur of the House, Castle Howard’s grounds are designed on an heroic scale. The 1,000 acres are dotted with statues, lakes and fountains, with memorable sights such as the Temple of the Four Winds and the Mausoleum.
Gardens include 18th-century Walled Garden with rose and delphinium collections, plus ornamental vegetable garden. Ray Wood, on the site of ancient woodland is home to a unique collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias.
